CHECK VALVES
CVTD System Balancing Valves
The CVTD System Balancing Valve from Metraflex is three valves in one:
- Calibrated balance valve
- A shut-off valve
- A center-guided non-slam check valve
Replacing three valves with just one Metraflex CVTD System Balancing Valve can dramatically reduce your up-front material and labor costs.
Features/Benefits
- The CVTD System Balancing Valve’s streamlined design results in low pressure drops, making it extremely energy efficient.
- Three valves in one reduces cost and minimizes installation time
- Greater range of control so you get precise flow control versus on-off throttling valves
- Positive shut-off without valve chatter
- Calibrated nameplate allows return of valve to balanced position after shut-off
- Durable, bronze seat, stainless steel stem and bronze disc construction ensures long life
Valve Selection
"Line sizing" the CVTD (6-inch pipe therefore use a 6-inch valve) is usually not the best method to select the valve. To properly select a CVTD try to match the systems designed flow in GPM with the valve that is at least 50% open and creates a minimum 3-psi pressure drop.
The 50% opening is recommended to prevent erosion of the seat when a valve is operated close to closure and the 3-psi pressure drop assures that valve is operating within a range that is most accurate.
