What has made this possible (aside from the expertly engineered products) are the outstanding Metraflex employees. Throughout its history, Metraflex has had dedicated employees that work together to accomplish the same goal—success! Meet the team below.

Ancient Innovator

Metraflexius was an innovator of piping capabilities in Ancient Greece circa 565 B.C., he created what is now known as the Metraflexius Equation and completely reengineered the ancient Greek aqueduct system with special attention to vibration isolation and noise dampening improvements. The Metraflexius Equation is still used today in the HVAC industry, a true testament to his genius.

Grey haired guys can come in handy from time to time, and Jim is (one of) our grey-haired guy(s). Jim has been around the block a few times. His experiences include writing ASTM standards, IAPMO plumbing standards, patent holder, and almost getting arrested at a top-secret government facility.

Meet Jim Richter, President of the Metraflex Company. Jim landed this job because he wowed the original founders of the company by sailing a bathtub across Lake Michigan. No joke! This stunt landed him the gig and he now is an avid sailor, sans bathtub. Jim is known to sleep with a notepad beside his bed as some of Metraflex’s best inventions have come from straight from his dreams. Some of the dumbest too!

The title Bob uses the most is Vice President – Finance. His background is in Accounting and he practiced as a CPA prior to joining Metraflex. Bob tries his best to be a homebody, but his wife of 42 years, Ginny, his grandkids, and his 6-month-old puppy Bruno make sure he has plenty to do.

"Mr. Inside” also known as the “George Bailey” of Metraflex, Doug wears many Metraflex hats—from accounting, cash-management & credit to warehouse operations, and freight management to building R&M. Doug is coming up on his 30th anniversary here at Metraflex! He attributes his grey hair to that.

Zeke is an ex-boy scout and the 4th longest serving Metraflex employee. Throughout his time, he has held a variety of positions within the company— Director of Storytelling was his favorite. He is a co-inventor of a few patented devices nobody needs, and his driver’s license states his hair color as “blonde”.

Jerry is a second-generation employee, coming to the office since he was a young lad with his Father! He is an amazing bowler (check out his pin collection in his office!) and an even better Accountant/Treasurer. Around the office you can find him crunching the numbers and crafting the Financial Statements.

Dan’s first job out of college was at Metraflex and he’s been here ever since. He got his start in the research and development/quality department and transitioned to the dark side (Sales) in 2017. When Dan is not traveling around meeting Metraflex Reps he enjoys spending time with his family, and outdoor activities.

Dan started working at Metraflex in the warehouse during summer breaks from the University of Illinois and still claims to be the best forklift driver at Metraflex. He is most known for building the online configurator, but he eventually ended up where all Metraflex Dans do, Sales. When he is not on the road you might see Dan playing guitar somewhere around Chicago in a slightly above average cover band.

Jay started in sales in 2017 and has been pretty good at it ever since. He is so good, in-fact, that we are moving him into supply chain management to help fulfill all these orders! If you ever get Jay’s out-of-office, know it is probably because he is out camping or hiking somewhere.

Austin's career journey has been anything but conventional. He first made a name for himself in indie rock and DJing before transitioning to a successful sales career with a PVF distributor, where he thrives on building relationships and fostering collaboration. Austin's focus has shifted to family life and when he is not chasing after his three boys, he enjoys playing golf and hitting the gym.

Marty Rogin, PE has been in the engineering profession for 32 years. His career path has led him from the edge of space to the bowels of the earth with several stops in between. He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, M.S. in Engineering Mechanics and is a licensed professional engineer in several states. It's always good to have a Marty around!

When Anca isn’t travelling the world, she’s running (literally) around Metraflex and making sure you have exactly what you need. Anca makes fast friends, which, coincidentally, helps her sell more and more each year.

Michelle has held a couple different positions here at Metraflex. She started in production and has since moved her way into sales. After seeing all the cool stuff she coordinated, she just had to sell some Metraflex. She’s pretty darn good at it, too! Her side gig is lifeguarding for her grandkids at her pool.

Kyle is a lifelong Chicagoan, and his grandma has said he’s a ‘real treat’ to have around sometimes. When he’s not cranking-in orders or quoting our fabulous line of products, you can find him with his head in a book or playing air guitar with the local riffraff. If you see him strolling down the sidewalk eating an apple, don’t be afraid to ask for a bite!

Liz was a dedicated student at Hooker High School in Hooker, OK—home of the Hooker Horny Toad. We’re not kidding. After her quick stint in Oklahoma, she found her way to another great part of the Midwest—Iowa—where she raised pigs and studied Agriculture, as one does in Iowa. Luckily for Metraflex the city is where Liz feels more “at home”. When she isn’t attending to her rep’s every need, Liz is hanging out with her pets named after foods (Spud & Huevo).

Now he helps us design new products, bring our crazy product ideas to life, and finds ways to improve our current selection as the Research and Development Engineer. Jackson is a cheesehead and when he’s not praying for a Packers win, he’s hanging out with his friends & family.

Mike spent nearly 20 years working in warehouses and has lived most of his life in Chicago. For about half that time, he lived just two blocks from Metra South. In fact, he taught his daughter how to ride a bike in the parking lot before it even became Metraflex! Adding to the surprise, he found out that someone working at Metraflex was actually his cousin—someone he never even knew was part of his family. For Mike, joining the Metraflex team felt a bit like fate.

Yesenia has lived in Chicago her whole life and doesn’t plan on changing that anytime soon. After 20 years in administration, she made the leap to Production Coordinator at Metraflex, where she’s been keeping things running smoothly for over a year. When she’s off the clock, you’ll usually find her with music playing and cheering on her little soccer star from the sidelines.
